NOKIA 5 – ANDROID PIE
HMD Global, the brand new home for Nokia Phones always promised to its user for timely Major Android Update for their smartphones. Now Nokia is sending out an update to Android 9.0 (Pie) to the almost year old Nokia 5 which is mid-range phone launched in 2017. This also makes Nokia one of the fastest company when it comes to updating handsets that aren’t a Flagship Phone but still running the latest Android Pie.
As usual Our Favorite Juho Sarvikas, HMD’s Chief Product Officer. Proudly announced this on Twitter. When Nokia 5 was released, it was running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat on board, and then received Android Oreo 8.0 update last year.
Like all software updates, expect the Nokia 5’s Pie release to be rolling out in stages. As such, don’t panic if you own the phone and haven’t seen an update notification yet – it should be coming within the next few days.
As all OTA Updates, You can expect Nokia 5’s Android Pie update to be rolling out in different stages. My friend’s Nokia 5 haven’t seen any notification on the latest Android Pie roll out.
Octa-core processor powers the Nokia 5 as it comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). On the Optics side, the Nokia 5 packs a 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear and an 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies.
The Nokia 5 runs Android 7.1.1 and has a 3000mAh non-removable battery. It comes with a Dual-SIM (GSM and GSM) connectivity that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, USB OTG, FM, 3G and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). Sensors on the phone include Compass/ Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, and Gyroscope.
